We are overjoyed to share that the Healthy Minds Campaign has successfully concluded with an incredible outcome. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have raised $35,140. Coupled with a matching donation of $25,000 from our committed donors, we reached a total of $60,140! These funds are crucial in expanding our behavioral health services at FCHC and will directly support the addition of a new counselor to our team.
What this Campaign helps Accomplish
The success of the Healthy Minds Campaign allows us to address the growing need for accessible mental health care in our community. With less than 100 providers for every 100,000 people in our area, the necessity to expand is urgent. These funds will help us bridge that gap and provide essential services to more individuals like Patricia, who have benefited greatly from our continuous support through their mental health challenges.
Patricia’s Story
Patricia's journey with Fredericksburg Christian Health Center (FCHC) began when she was just a teenager. After her initial visits, she moved to Richmond, where she faced numerous challenges, which compounded her struggles with mental health. Patricia returned to FCHC after a critical mental health crisis required her to seek follow-up care without the benefit of health insurance.
Since her return, FCHC has been a steady source of support for Patricia, helping her manage her anxiety and depression and providing stability through various life challenges. This support has included preventing further hospital admissions and facilitating her participation in a drug rehabilitation program. Additionally, despite her initial reluctance due to past experiences and long waitlists, FCHC's partnerships enabled Patricia to receive psychological counseling, significantly aiding her recovery and demonstrating FCHC’s commitment to providing holistic and continuous care.
